SquidSoft.net Games

We currently have three games that are complete and open to players.

Star Conquest: Catalyst

Imagine five very different groups of people colonizing worlds, building space stations, and spreading amongst the stars. Now imagine that an unimaginably powerful alien civilization has destroyed all of it. The Outsiders seem to be unstoppable, and victory impossible. But things are about to change. Join the resistance.

Star Conquest was our first game, and first opened in late 1998, enjoying a successful first iteration. After three years of downtime, the game is back with new characters, new plotlines, and new activities. We call the new iteration Star Conquest: Catalyst.

Star Conquest: Catalyst is a text-based game, which means you need a text client to connect to it. Windows comes with a text client called Telnet, which isn't very good, but will let you connect if you have no other options.

We recommend that you connect using tkMOO-light, a simple but powerful MOO client. You may also find other suitable clients under this Yahoo! category.

SquidMOO

SquidMOO is a text-based virtual environment in which participants can build whatever they like, learn MOO code, and interact freely with other people. Unlike the other Squidsoft.net games, there is no roleplaying component to SquidMOO. Come if you want to talk to other players OOCly, interact with the staff in a somewhat less administrative fashion, or learn how to build and code MOOs.

Star Conquest: Classic

After several waves of exploration and colonization, humanity has settled many planets in distant solar systems. Split into four alliances, each faction approaches its existence in space with a different mindset. But recently, humans have found that they aren't alone. The enigmatic Jinu, the subjugating Outsiders, and the invading Interstellar Federation of Species make space a strange and dangerous place.

NOTICE: Star Conquest: Classic is offered mainly for the purposes of nostalgia and will receive MINIMAL support. Go to Star Conquest at telnet://squidsoft.net:7777 for a more active development experience and to play the game as it is meant to be!
